What a great way to begin my blog...an inspiring workshop weekend in Alpena, MI...being taught by the very talented artist Claudine Hellmuth and spending time with my friend April (of Catching Fireflies fame) and my new friend Catherine Hilker. What a fun group of artists were at Art in the Loft to be inspired by Claudine and each other!
We spent the weekend learning color theory, composition, background techniques...all things that we could apply to our collages.
This is an example of Claudine Hellmuth's amazing artwork.

Here I am working on one of my collages.

This is my friend April who convinced me that I needed a blog. She has been working on me to start one for awhile! So, during this weekend, she got me all set-up for my Bloom blog. I am so thankful for her help, her generous words of wisdom and her friendship....and finally getting to spend some time with her!

YEAH!!!! Your first post looks fantastic - you're a natural:) I look forward to seeing all the lovely things you're up to in the fine town of Williamston.
